Description: Catalyzing Sustainability.

Greenview leverages the power of data, common guidelines, best practices, and innovation to help organizations navigate and adapt to the constantly evolving landscape of sustainability and social responsibility. Information will be shared on how organizations can set strategies, develop programs, measures and report on sustainability.

Lindy Farrar is an Analyst at Greenview focusing on Environmental Research and Data, Corporate Reporting, and Sustainable Event Program development and support. She also supports a number of industry benchmarking projects including the Green Venue Report. Prior to Greenview, Lindy was a Public Affairs Specialist at the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the Office of Research and Development (ORD), where she supported the development of a National Program’s Strategic Action Plan. Lindy served as the Executive Secretary of the National Science and Technology Council’s (NSTC), Subcommittee on Water Availability and Quality (SWAQ), as an advisor and to assist the NSTC on policies, scientific developments, and

research needs. Lindy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations with a focus on Global Environmental Politics from American University.

Lindy Farrar from Greenview will present the current state of sustainable events with tips on how to get started on your own sustainability journey. This includes ways to save money, engage attendees, and create meaningful partnerships. This presentation will also include trends from the most recent Green Venue Report, and what you can expect from green venues during your events.

Conference and Meeting Management Instructor: Carol Krugman, MEd, CMP, CMM, is  the Chair| Department of Hospitality, Tourism & Events and the Assistant Professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver. She has been organizing international meetings for over 25 years as a corporate marketing manager, association executive, senior manager for two global communications and experience marketing agencies and president of her own independent meeting management company. She is a frequent speaker on international meetings and is regarded as one of the industry’s top experts in cross-cultural planning, international meeting operations, risk assessment and crisis management.

Floor Plan Development Instructor: Charlotte Pearson, CEM, joined Freeman in 2011 as Senior Business Development Manager in the Freeman Las Vegas branch. Freeman is the premier provider of integrated marketing solutions for face-to-face events. Charlotte is responsible for sales management, strategic sales planning, and pre-show site/post-show support on over 30 tradeshows per year. Charlotte is an active member of IAEE since 1992 and is the current Chairperson of the CEM Commission. Charlotte also served on the IAEE Education Committee from 2008 through 2012 and was Chairperson in 2011. She is an educator on the CEM Faculty with IAEE and teaches several times a year in the United States and internationally in Taiwan, Korea and Azerbaijan.

Event Marketing Instructor: Donna Jarvis-Miller, CMP, CEM, is the Director, Membership Operations and Events of the American Public Human Services Association in Washington, D.C. Donna has nearly 20 years of experience in show production, exhibit and sponsorship sales and event and conference management. Her work with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in sales and development has afforded her the opportunity to work in a wide variety of venues and events.  She consistently builds relationships with vendors, marketing partners, exhibitors and association members to create synergies that become winning formulas for successful events.


Finance, Budgeting and Contracts Instructor: Robert (Bob) McLean, CPA, is PPAI’s executive vice president.  He was hired in June 2008 as chief financial officer and is responsible for finance and administration, information technology and the Promotional Products Education Foundation. In October 2011, Bob was promoted to EVP and assumed responsibility for all revenue-producing products and services at PPAI. These include the business development, membership sales, trade shows, publications, and education and certification departments.

Selecting Service Contractors Instructor: Dennis Sharland, CEM is Senior Manager of Expositions and Advertising for the Air Force Association. He is a seasoned and certified trade show professional with almost 20 years of experience. He has had the opportunity to experience all sides of the industry in venues across the U.S., as well as Europe and Australia, on shows with as few as 20 exhibitors to those with more than 1,000. Dennis now manages two of the most well regarded trade shows in the aerospace and defense market, having taken them from floor plans printed on foam core and exhibit guides produced in-house to interactive floor plans that are available 24/7 and a professionally produced guide worthy of repeat sponsorship.
